We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions across multiple platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture, virtualization, and software development practices to ensure scalable, secure, and efficient cloud environments. The Cloud Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy cloud-based applications and services, supporting the organization’s digital transformation initiatives.
*Responsibilities*
* Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, OpenStack, VMware, Rackspace, and Citrix.
* Develop and maintain scalable web services and SaaS/PaaS solutions utilizing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
* Implement system hardening and security best practices to safeguard cloud environments against vulnerabilities.
* Automate deployment processes using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, PowerShell, Bash scripting, and Git for version control.
* Monitor system performance and optimize resource utilization across cloud platforms while ensuring high availability and disaster recovery readiness.
* Collaborate with development teams to support application development using languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Go, .NET, and Shell scripting.
* Manage databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server with expertise in SQL/T-SQL/PL/SQL for data management tasks.
* Maintain knowledge of virtualization technologies such as Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration for deploying microservices architectures.
* Ensure compliance with IT policies through system hardening and security protocols like VPNs and network segmentation.
* Support continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline software release cycles in an Agile environment.
* Provide technical guidance on cloud architecture best practices for Internet of Things (IoT), system management, and application development projects.
*Skills*
* Extensive experience with cloud computing platforms including AWS (S3, IaaS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure, OpenStack, VMware, Rackspace Cloud.
* Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices design patterns, RESTful APIs, SaaS/PaaS/IaaS models.
* Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration tools.
* Hands-on experience with automation/configuration management tools like Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef.
* Solid programming skills in Python, JavaScript (Node.js), Java, Ruby on Rails; scripting expertise in Bash/PowerShell/Shell Scripting.
* Knowledge of database management systems including MySQL/PostgreSQL/Oracle/Microsoft SQL Server with SQL/T-SQL/PL/SQL expertise.
* Familiarity with operating systems including Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS), Windows Server environments; system hardening techniques essential for security compliance.
* Experience working within DevOps practices supporting CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools; version control with Git.
* Understanding of network security protocols such as VPNs; familiarity with Meraki or similar network management solutions is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $74,563.02 - $89,796.31 per year
