Post Procedural Progressive Cardiac Step Down Unit Cost Center: 345408 Educator (if applicable): TBD Selling points for the unit: This is a brand new unit at Audubon to manage the care of our post invasive cardiology patients and potentially patients where it is deemed that they will be going to the cath lab during their stay. This will include TAVR, cardiac catheterization, Watchman, Mitra Clip, electrophysiology procedures, NSTEMI. # beds/procedures: 14 beds Patient ratio: 1:3-1:4 Does RN need to know how to read tele strips? Yes Top diagnosis/procedures: NSTEMI, PCI, ablations, PPM implant, ICD implant, and the above listed procedures. Common equipment used: Femstop, standard equipment on a PCU, EKG machine Does RN need to be able to titrate medication? Yes Common medications given: Nitroglycerin IV, PO, paste, Angiomax, Heparin, ASA, Plavix, Effient, Brilinta, beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, diuretics Certifications required (ACLS, BLS, NIH, TORBSST, PALS, Stable, TNCC etc) : BLS Scrub Color (are they provided): Galaxy Blue
