Marketplace Consultant (Strategic Sourcing – Reverse Auctions)
Job Description
PURPOSE:
AIQ seeks an experienced Marketplace Consultant with deep knowledge of procurement strategies and RFP development to be responsible for managing projects on behalf of our clients. As a Marketplace Consultant, your primary duties will include, market research to identify potential suppliers, interfacing with clients to determine business needs for RFP development, technical writing to develop RFP questionnaires that assess supplier capabilities, managing an e-sourcing platform for reverse auction projects, supplier engagement, client consultation, and utilizing the AIQ process/methodology to drive favorable client outcomes.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Responsible for managing the AIQ source-to-contract process and accountable for the execution of processes associated with the Marketplace business unit.
● Support the development of situational assessments for potential client projects to determine the optimal approach to creating a competitive market condition.
● Utilize communication skills regularly with clients to listen and understand business needs, provide value-added consultative feedback and suggestions, and present event outcomes.
● Responsible for researching, qualifying, locating, and actively engaging with high-fit supplier prospects across a wide range of service categories.
● Function as an expert during the development of RFP elements (pricing, scope, terms, etc.) to ensure that RFP engagements are timely, comprehensive, and coherent to the engaged suppliers in order to deliver ideal outcomes.
● Responsible for complex RFP design, event setup, project execution, and follow-up discussions with suppliers as needed.
● Work closely with internal cross-functional teams to develop client-facing content for various purposes, including discovery for client projects, project setup, event outcome reviews, and client decision-making support.
● Learn, assess, make recommendations, and enhance our current AIQ methodology business lifecycle by identifying opportunities for improvement while reducing process gaps to speed client alignment and achieve maximum client cost savings opportunities.
● Support a wide variety of ad hoc requests as needed.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
● Reports to the Manager of Strategic Operations
QUALIFICATIONS:
● Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, economics, logistics, business administration, finance, or a related field.
● 2+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or contract management, preferably with technology category experience.
● Proven track record of delivering cost savings and process improvements through strategic sourcing initiatives.
● Experience with e-sourcing platforms and processes is preferred but not required.
● Experience in the technology vertical or adjacent vertical is preferred but not required.
● General financial experience is preferred but not required.

● Ability to research, qualify, locate, and actively engage with high-fit supplier prospects across a wide range of service categories.
● Ability to develop RFP requirements via technical writing skills for supplier prospects to complete (terms and conditions, pricing, and structure).
● Ability to manage an e-source reverse auction process from start to finish, including post event supplier follow-up needs.
● Ability to assess RFP outcomes (pricing and terms) to provide strategic insights used to consult with clients.
● Ability to work effectively and collaborate across a wide range of cross-functional teams, including operations, client services, sales, and the executive leadership team.
● General understanding of many different technologies in order to determine if potential suppliers are an ideal fit for a specific workstream.
● Ability to determine supplier prospect follow-up needs and coordinate across the team to obtain required information.
● Ability to effectively negotiate commercial contracts with potential suppliers.
● Ability to develop high-quality, professional client presentations that are used to present outcomes and suggested strategies to maximize client benefits.
● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google applications.
● Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and business objectives.
● Ability to embrace the vision of continuous operational excellence by being an agent of change.
JOB DETAILS:

Remote working environment - This role is primarily a remote position with minimal travel required based on client needs. The candidate will be provided with company equipment but must have their own private office and a good internet connection.
Salaried position with the expectation to commit to a minimum of 40 hours per week.
The company's primary business is Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Mountain time zone. However, employees may be required to accommodate adjusted work hours due to specific circumstances to meet project deadlines, which will be communicated in advance.
To be considered for this role, you must be authorized to work in the United States and reside in one of the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Texas, Utah, and Washington.
