Job DescriptionJob Description

Well-established medical examination company located in Syosset is seeking a Billing Clerk that oversees all company billing processes, ensuring timely payment collection. This role manages aging accounts and ensures that all billing activities are conducted professionally, promptly, and in compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.

The position is paying up to $22/hour and the client would like to hire ASAP

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Preparing and maintaining accurate, systematic processing of invoices and monthly billing reports.
  • Ensuring daily invoicing aligns with company standards and client contract agreements; following up on delayed provider bills to minimize invoicing lag.
  • Conducting regular reviews of aging accounts over 30 days.
  • Printing and mailing current and past-due invoices as needed.
  • Resolving invoice issues and discrepancies by contacting clients as necessary.
  • Researching and responding to client inquiries on payment and invoice issues.
  • Organizing and maintaining billing and accounting files.
  • Reporting unresolved client disputes to the Accounting Manager for further resolution.
  • Providing requested information for audits.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and security of financial records.
  • Performing various clerical tasks, including answering phone calls, taking messages, filing, scanning, and photocopying.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

 

Professional Competencies

  • Have strong math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in various units, and the ability to compute rates and percentages.
  • Be proficient in multiple software applications, including Great Plains, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and internet-based tools.
  • Follow instructions and respond accurately to management's guidance.
  • Demonstrate high accuracy in financial data entry and look for ways to improve quality in their work.
  • Exhibit clear communication skills, actively listen, and seek clarification when needed.
  • Work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate focus, even with distractions.
  • Perform well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Promote a team-oriented environment with a positive attitude.
