We are looking for a professional and collaborative CONSTUCTION PROCUREMENT AGENT to join our team who can deliver quality work while procuring materials, equipment, and services needed for multiple projects, ensuring they are on time, within budget and meet quality standards.

MUST HAVE 3 + years' experience as a CONSTRUCTION PROCUREMENT AGENT

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to identify all procurement needs for materials, equipment, services and sub-contractors required for construction projects including timelines and budgets
  • Research, source, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and sub-contractors to secure the best value for materials, equipment, and services.
  • Contact a range of suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain quotations.
  • Negotiating and agreeing the most favorable terms possible with suppliers and sub-contractors once a contract has been awarded.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliability and availability of resources.
  • Track and manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and inventory levels to ensure that materials are available when needed.
  • Analyze market trends and pricing to optimize procurement strategies.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Maintaining records of purchase orders in QuickBooks Desktop, and save all related documents to digital filing system for vendor bills, packing lists and delivery schedules.
  • Providing historical data and advisement to the project estimator on the predicted costs of individual items.
  • Liaising closely with the estimator at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided.
  • Preparing and maintaining cost reports in QBs and Excel in order to maximize efficiency within the business
  • Resolving any issues that may arise with suppliers or deliveries
  • Continue to monitor costs and budgets and seek new sources for frequently purchase materials and services.
  • Perform additional assignments per ownership direction.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Procurement Agent, Buyer, or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools including QuickBooks Construction
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of construction materials and equipment.
  • Knowledge of landscape materials is highly desirable.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
