Overview:

We are looking for a compassionate, experienced caregiver to assist with weekend care. This role involves working 12-hour shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The ideal candidate should be responsible, have a valid driver’s license, and be comfortable working independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care: Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Medication Management: Remind and assist with administering prescribed medications.
  • Transportation: Drive to appointments, errands, and outings as needed (valid driver’s license required).
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare nutritious meals based on dietary needs and preferences.
  • Housekeeping: Light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, tidying, and organizing.
  • Companionship: Provide engaging conversation and emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life.
  • Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in the client’s condition or behavior.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous caregiving experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License: Must have a current, valid license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Availability: Must be available to work 12-hour shifts every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, patience, and a compassionate demeanor.
  • Other: Background check and references required.

  • Compassion and Empathy: Ability to connect with clients and understand their needs on an emotional level.
  • Patience: Remain calm and patient, especially in challenging situations.
  • Strong Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Observation: Ability to monitor and recognize changes in a client's physical or emotional state and report them promptly.
  • Time Management: Organize tasks efficiently within a 12-hour shift.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust to a client’s changing needs and daily routines.
  • Problem-Solving: Quick thinking and decision-making skills for handling any unexpected issues.
  • Physical Stamina: Capability to handle physical tasks like lifting, transferring, or assisting clients with mobility.
  • Organizational Skills: Keep track of medications, appointments, and daily tasks.
  • Basic First Aid/CPR Certification (optional, but highly preferred).
