Job Opening: Gallery Coordinator (Part-time)


We are seeking a talented and experienced Gallery Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gallery operations, art education, and administrative skills.

Key Responsibilities

Art Education Programming

- Develop and organize art workshops and events

- Collaborate with contracted teachers and presenters

- Manage classroom materials and space

Exhibition Management

- Assist in planning and preparing exhibitions

- Install artwork, create labels, and manage lighting

- Maintain communication with artists and handle paperwork

- Manage open calls and artwork shipping

Financial Operations

- Process sales using Square and maintain database systems

- Create invoices and purchase orders

- Complete monthly financial reports

- Track donations and manage "Friends of the Gallery" program

Administrative Tasks

- Update mailing lists and customer database

- Provide quality customer service, including gallery tours and sales

- Handle phone inquiries promptly

Marketing and Promotion

- Collaborate with marketing team using Asana

- Create and send email campaigns via MailChimp

- Manage social media accounts and website content

- Promote exhibitions, workshops, and events

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Gallery experience as an artist or gallerist

- Ability to lift at least 45 lbs

- Excellent organizational skills and responsibility

- Strong teamwork abilities

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)

- Digital media and social media skills

- Basic web knowledge, including WordPress

- Sales experience, preferably with Square POS software

- Ability to work well in a team of two, sharing responsibilities as needed
