Job Description Job Description

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders, including speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in school-aged children. The SLP will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to ensure students achieve their educational goals.

Duration: Immediate – 07/2026

Location: Contracts located in the Bronx or Manhattan (whichever is more convenient)

Hours: 30.00

Pay range: $ per hour on a local contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing clear instructions to students both in and out of the classroom on learning and skill development strategies that will improve their language, understanding, and communication abilities.
  • Evaluating students social and developmental needs using assessment tools.
  • Assisting teachers in implementing and developing curriculum modifications and classroom strategies, as needed.
  • Working one on one with students in the classroom to reinforce and support the teacher's lesson plans.
  • Participating in team and professional development planning sessions.

Qualifications:

Education and Licensure:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid NY State licensure and registration as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • A Teaching Students with Speech-Language Disabilities (TSSLD) Certificate.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working with school-aged children preferred.
  • CFs may apply

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and work with students for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift materials and equipment up to 25 lbs.
