Job DescriptionJob Description

We are looking for an HR professional to oversee all human resource functions, providing support in payroll management, benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment, compliance, and office administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Connecticut labor laws and HR best practices, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, small business setting. 
 

HR Management:

·         Labor Law Compliance: Ensure all HR practices adhere strictly to Connecticut labor laws and federal regulations.

·         Employee Relations: Handle first-level employee relations issues, providing counsel and resolving conflicts in a fair and timely manner.

·         Policy Development/Updates: Review, develop, and implement HR policies to align with CT laws and company growth.

·         Employee Handbook: Maintain and update the employee handbook to reflect policy changes and legal requirements.

Payroll and Benefits Administration:

·         Payroll Management: Manage company payroll, including labor information updates, timesheet data cross-checking, submission, and record maintenance.

·         Benefits Administration: Oversee benefits, preparing and submitting 401(k) information, and liaising with providers to ensure employee understanding and access.

Recruitment and Onboarding:

·         Recruitment Coordination: Manage the hiring process, including vendor relations, job postings, resume screening, and interview coordination.

·         New Hire Orientation: Coordinate comprehensive new hire orientations and process all related paperwork.

Performance Management and Employee Engagement:

·         Annual Performance Appraisals: Coordinate the appraisal process to ensure timely and constructive feedback.

·         Time and Attendance: Track and maintain accurate records.

·         Employee Appreciation/Recognition: Design and coordinate programs and events to boost morale and engagement.

Safety and Compliance:

·         Safety Committee Member: Contribute to ensuring a safe work environment, adhering to OSHA guidelines and CT safety regulations.

·         HR Law Compliance: Stay updated on CT labor laws and federal regulations, ensuring all HR practices are compliant.

Requirements:

·         Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

·         Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in an HR Generalist role, preferably in a manufacturing or small business setting.

·         CT Labor Law Knowledge: Strong understanding of Connecticut labor laws and regulations.

·         HR Certifications: PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certifications are highly valued.

·         Software Proficiency: Experience with PEO systems, payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite

·         Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.


This HR Supervisor position is a newly created role within Greaves Corporation, initially listed as a part-time opportunity. As the company continues to grow and the HR function evolves, there is a strong possibility for this role to transition to full-time within the next 12 months. The ideal candidate will not only excel in the current part-time capacity but also be poised to adapt and expand their responsibilities as the role develops, ultimately contributing to the long-term success of our organization.
