Medical Assistant/ Front Desk

Job Description:
As a Hybrid Medical Assistant / Front Desk Receptionist, you will be responsible for both front desk administrative duties and clinical support in our pediatric practice. This is a unique opportunity to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals while helping us deliver top-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk:
- Greet and check-in patients in a professional and friendly manner
- Schedule appointments and manage patient calendars
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries
- Handle patient registration, billing, and payments
- Manage medical records and ensure confidentiality
- Maintain office inventory and manage supplies
- Assist with patient communication and handle patient concerns
- Ensure compliance with office policies and confidentiality standards
- Provide general administrative support to the office team
Medical Assistant:
- Take patient vitals and room patients prior to examination
- Perform swab testing and specimen collection
- Assist with diagnostic tests and procedures
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment for use
- Document patient information and charting in electronic health records (EHR)
- Assist physicians during patient examinations
- Promote infection control and maintain safety protocols
- Educate patients and families on health topics and treatments
- Assist with patient support, including parental communication and coordination
- Help prepare for the next patient and ensure the flow of the clinic
- Assist with additional procedures or tests, including administering vaccines
Qualifications:
- Bilingual – English and Spanish (REQUIRED)
- Pediatrics experience is a plus (Preferred but not required)
- Medical Assistant certification (Preferred but not required)
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with EHR software (or ability to learn quickly)
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards
