Quality Assurance Technician

Position Overview

We are the oldest supplier of sausage products in the United States, committed to delivering high-quality products to our customers. We are seeking a self-motivated, enthusiastic, and dependable Quality Assurance Technician to join our team. The Quality Assurance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and documenting quality control processes throughout production. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Director, this role works closely with the production, procurement, and management teams to ensure that all quality programs are implemented, continuously improved, and properly documented.

Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct inspections, audits, and testing of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
  • Accurately document quality control findings, ensuring all records are maintained, up to date, clear, legible, and accurate format, and completed with required information
  • Communicate quality issues and corrective actions to the production team and management.
  • Assist in developing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality programs.
  • Practice, monitor, and train new hires on all required work safe practices according to company policy including proper wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Work collaboratively with procurement and production teams to uphold supplier and ingredient quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in training as needed.
  • Participate in Company food safety and quality meetings.
  • Report any human safety, food safety, or food quality related issues to management immediately
  • Prepare facility for third party audit
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) required to effectively communicate across diverse teams.
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP, USDA, FDA, GMPs) is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Effective communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry and documentation.

While performing the duties of this position, the worker is exposed to indoor environmental conditions transfer lines, strong odors, chemicals, and moving machinery. The environment will be cold as processing occurs in refrigerated temperatures. The noise level is usually moderate. Exposed to hot water or cold temperatures while working in the production areas and moving through freezers and refrigerated storage.
