We are seeking a skilled Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. The Prep Cook will assist our chefs in preparing ingredients, chopping vegetables, and ensuring food items are ready for cooking. The ideal candidate should be organized, efficient, and have a passion for food preparation. This role plays a crucial part in our kitchen's daily operations, contributing to the overall success of our restaurant.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and portion ingredients as directed by the head chef.
- Wash, peel, and chop vegetables and fruits.
- Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items.
- Follow recipes accurately to maintain consistency in food quality.
- Ensure all food preparation areas are clean and sanitized.
- Assist in stocking and organizing the kitchen inventory.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to maintain a smooth workflow.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
**Requirements:**
-Bring Knife-it with you at all times
- Previous experience as a prep cook or in a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in food preparation.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Lift and carry heavy pots, pans, and trays.
- Work in a hot and noisy kitchen environment.
**Education:**
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
**Certification:**
Food handler's permit or certification is a plus.
