Summary:

The Quality Director is responsible for leading the company’s corporate quality systems, staff, and metrics across all facilities. This role ensures the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety are met, with a focus on continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, product quality, and customer satisfaction. The Quality Director will oversee compliance with industry standards such as TS16949 and drive initiatives to improve quality performance at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain high standards for quality, reliability, and safety across the company’s operations.
  • Lead and oversee APQP/PPAP activities, ensuring compliance with customer-specific quality requirements.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance systems and procedures across all production departments.
  • Lead and manage the Quality Department, including Quality Managers, Engineers, Auditors, and Technicians.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing processes and quality control systems.
  • Act as the liaison between the company, customers, and suppliers regarding quality matters.
  • Develop and deliver quality training programs for employees.
  • Lead TS16949 initiatives, ensuring compliance with automotive quality standards.
  • Implement problem-solving techniques and statistical methods to improve product quality.
  • Review and revise standard operational practices to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Monitor process capabilities and identify opportunities for process improvements using statistical tools.
  • Provide leadership in ensuring compliance with customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Engineering or related field, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in quality management.
  • Experience: 5+ years in quality management or related roles within the automotive, manufacturing, or plastics processing industries.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Expertise in APQP/PPAP, TS16949, and other industry quality standards.
    • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), GD&T, and problem-solving methodologies.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify issues, analyze data, and implement solutions.

Language & Communication:

  • Ability to write clear reports and business correspondence.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate with all levels of staff, management, customers, and suppliers.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to perform essential job functions with reasonable accommodations, if needed.
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, chemicals, and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally, as needed.

Work Environment:

  • The position will be based in both office and manufacturing environments with low to moderate noise levels.
  • Typical work hours: 8–10 hours/day, Monday–Friday, with occasional travel.
