Our client, a waste removal company, is seeking a Material Handler to join their team in Mt. Vernon, IL.

Shift: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Pay Rate: $17.50hour

Schedule: Rotating Pitman Schedule – Week 1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat | Week 2: Sun, Wed, Thurs
Every other weekend off | Paid holidays included.

Material Handler Job Responsibilities:

  • Move and transport materials manually and via forklift (certification provided if needed)
  • Load materials into trailers and dumpsters
  • Convey items between work sites and storage areas
  • Sort and Bale Recyclable Materials
  • Accurately document all tasks and material movements
  • Safely lift to 25–50 lbs on a regular basis

Material Handler Job Requirements:

  • Previous forklift experience preferred (not required – we'll train)
  • High attention to detail in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines and operate machinery responsibly
  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma, GED, or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Ability to work the rotating 2nd shift schedule

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to various physical and environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise, dirt, odors)
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided, including safety boots, gloves, earplugs, etc.
