Description

The Clinical Therapist will be responsible for individual, group and family clinical services and general case management within the context of a treatment team for youth and families served by The Children’s Center of Hamden. The Clinical Therapist will provide leadership and guidance related to clinical interventions and services.

In this position, the Clinical Therapist will maintain a case load and provide clinical support and crisis intervention. The Clinical Therapist will be the liaison with School Districts, outside agencies and personnel, DCF, hospitals, insurance/managed care, the legal system, private consultants, etc.

The Clinical Therapist is part of a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for providing information, strategies, and a clinical perspective, along with promoting teamwork in the treatment of youth.

Hours

School Year: 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM

Summer Break: 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Education and Experience

LMSW, LMFT-A, LPC-A, required.

Working knowledge of diagnostics, child development, mental health, substance abuse.

Familiarity or previous experience with trauma informed practices. Ability to engage clients in a therapeutic relationship.

Ability to design and implement therapeutic interventions to promote positive change.

Ability to work with adolescents and their families.

Ability to work well independently within a treatment team philosophy. Good verbal and written communication skills.
