Candidates must have a Florida Building Inspector or Plans Examiner License.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Blueprint and Contract Analysis
    • Review and analyze blueprints, schematics, and contracts to verify compliance with local, state, and national building codes and regulations.
    • Identify potential issues in design plans and provide feedback to ensure adherence to standards.
  2. Construction Quality Inspections
    • Perform detailed on-site inspections to assess the quality of workmanship and materials used in construction projects.
    • Verify that construction methods meet established safety and quality standards.
  3. Data Collection and Issue Identification
    • Collect and document data on construction practices, site conditions, and adherence to approved plans.
    • Identify potential violations or areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective measures.
  4. Collaboration and Problem-Solving
    • Work closely with contractors, engineers, and architects to address discrepancies or concerns identified during inspections.
    • Provide clear guidance and recommendations to ensure resolution of issues in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Florida Building Inspector or Plans Examiner License is required.
  • Proven experience in construction, engineering, or a related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction standards.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in report writing and documentation tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to inspection sites as needed.
