Plymouth Terrace Senior Living is seeking a motivated, experienced, and dependable Community Maintenance Technician to perform general repairs as well as preventative maintenance at both our Assisted Living and Independent Living facilities on our campus in Plymouth, MI.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Complete necessary maintenance and repair tasks including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, painting, and carpentry.
  • Coordinate and execute all make-ready unit turnovers.
  • Participate in property inspections and address deficiencies.
  • Perform other general building maintenance and grounds work as requested or as preventatively scheduled.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with residents and respond to requests and issues in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Record maintenance and repair information in accordance with established procedures.
  • Comply with all fire/life/health/occupational safety procedures and standards.
  • Collaborate with management team and other support staff.
  • Use Service Issues and schedules to establish priorities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Responsible for taking after hours/weekend emergency calls as needed in coordination with partner provider.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a maintenance technician
  • Experience in all systems – HVAC, plumbing, electrical
  • Experience with carpentry and finish work
  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus
  • Valid driver's license
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions
