Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the flow of materials within the warehouse, ensuring that products are handled safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and the ability to operate various types of equipment.
Responsibilities
Duties
- Handle and transport materials within the warehouse using equipment such as pallet jack and sit-down forklift as needed.
- Build and organize pallets for shipping or storage purposes.
- Assist in order picking and packing processes.
- Operate heavy equipment to move materials around the warehouse.
- Work closely with the warehouse supervisor to maintain inventory accuracy.
Skills
- Proficiency in materials handling techniques.
- Experience operating warehouse equipment like pallet jacks, clamp trucks, cherry pickers, and cranes.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to material handling operations.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Strong to troubleshoot equipment issues as they arise.
- Experience with order picking and familiarity with warehouse management systems.
- Knowledge of materials handling best practices and safety protocols, including OSHA standards.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
