Pharmacy Technician

The role of a Pharmacy Technician is to assist the Pharmacist in providing quality patient pharmaceutical care.
Job Requirements
Knowledge of/Skill/Ability to: Good typing ability; computer skills; ability to adapt to new situations; high degree of accuracy for detailed work; clerical skills; ability to organize and complete assigned projects; ability to compound sterile products; Excellent customer service skills/experience; experience with medical terminology to maintain employment.
License/Certification
• Current Oregon Pharmacy Technician License and National Pharmacy Technician Certification are strongly preferred.
• If not currently licensed/certified: Must obtain a Temporary Oregon Board of Pharmacy Technician License within 90 days of employment and obtain permanent license thereafter. Must obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification within 12 months of employment.

Education and/or Experience
• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum Experience: Prior experience as a hospital pharmacy technician is desirable.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
Long periods of standing. Position involves standing, walking, stooping, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 30 pounds). May be required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment
