Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid – 2 Days Remote per Week)

Duration: 18 Months

Compensation: $25–$30/hour (Pay rate flexibility available)

Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Position Overview

Benefits Specialist to support Health & Welfare and 401(k) benefit administration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in benefits management, with a strong focus on retirement benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Welfare Benefits Administration

  • Maintain benefits records in HCM System and manage data reporting.
  • Process vendor and premium payments.
  • Handle life insurance evidence of insurability tasks.
  • Respond to vendor and employee inquiries regarding benefits and invoices.
  • Prepare and distribute new hire and termination benefits correspondence.
  • Maintain benefit plan expense spreadsheets and assist with budgeting.
  • Support Open Enrollment, including updating communication materials and testing system interfaces.

401(k) Retirement Plan Administration

  • Process 401(k) transactions (loans, distributions) and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with recordkeepers on participant inquiries.
  • Address employee questions related to the 401(k) plan.
  • Assist in the annual ADP/ACP non-discrimination testing and Form 5500 preparation.
  • Generate reports for Investment Committee meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in benefits administration (401(k) experience preferred).
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft or other HRIS systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word required.
