We are looking for a dedicated and strategic Financial Controller with a solid background in transportation and logistics finance. This role is ideal for a seasoned financial leader with 3-5 years of experience who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys implementing financial strategies that drive operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Financial Strategy & Reporting: Lead monthly and annual financial reporting for NATS and NALS to support senior management decision-making, focusing on cash flow, forecasting, and working capital optimization. Develop KPIs, such as cost-per-mile and rate-per-mile, to drive financial insights.
• Budgeting, Forecasting, and Compliance: Oversee budgeting and forecasting cycles for both trucking and brokerage operations. Ensure compliance with financial and transportation regulations, including tax provisions and IFTA. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Revenue & Operational Assurance: Manage accounting operations across NATS and NALS, including general ledger, receivables, payables, and payroll. Ensure billing accuracy, revenue assurance, and monitor customer agreements. Collaborate with Safety and Claims to manage reserves and forecast risk expenses.
• Vendor & Lease Management: Direct vendor negotiations and manage fleet financing, leases, and brokerage agreements, optimizing capital structures and cost savings.
• Technology & Process Automation: Lead the adoption of financial technology, data analytics, and process automation for more efficient reporting. Collaborate with IT to ensure ERP and TMS systems are seamlessly integrated across trucking and brokerage operations.
• Team Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing finance team with industry-specific expertise. Oversee wage incentives, commissions, and salary calculations to attract and retain top talent.
• Stakeholder & Risk Management: Maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, insurers, and operational teams to support NATS' and NALS’ financial stability and mitigate risk.

 

What You Bring

• Experience: 3-5 years of managerial accounting and financial experience, ideally in trucking, logistics, or a similar field. Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or Business; CPA or CMA preferred.
• Skills: Proficiency in financial software, ERP systems, and data analytics. Proven ability in cash flow management, revenue assurance, and transportation cost analysis.
• Mindset: Collaborative, adaptable, and strategic, with the ability to navigate a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
