Engineering Supervisor

Summary

As an Engineering Supervisor you will play a pivotal role in driving the drafting and engineering process for the company. You will supervise a team of drafters and engineers, overseeing the creating of detailed drawings, models and layouts. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy, quality, and compliance of deliverables with industry standards and project requirements. Your leadership and technical guidance will empower the team to tackle complex design challenges, optimize designs for efficiency, and deliver innovative solutions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise drafting and engineering staff to ensure the highest quality and efficient designs at the lowest possible cost using advanced level SolidWorks experience.

1. Mentor and coach both new staff and existing staff by providing technical guidance, professional development opportunities, and feedback to foster growth and enhance team performance using company core values.
2. Train staff in all aspects of the drafting department techniques, product applications and systems; recommend technical methods or approaches for these personnel in order to increase
3. Identify potential risks and issues related to design activity, proactively addressing them to minimize project delays, cost overruns, and compliance gaps.

1. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design process, workflow, and tools, leveraging industry best practices, technological advancements, and lessons learned from previous projects.

1. Compile data required for project assignments and develop specifications, reports and other related written documents as required.
2. Hire, train, provide corrective action for behaviors and annually review staff per the company core values to maintain the highest degree of accuracy and efficiency in the drafting department.

1. Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a safe working environment.

Job Skills Requirements

• Previous manufacturing experience with general knowledge of all areas within production, engineering, drafting and quality.
• Must have strong leadership skills and ability to lead by example.
• Ability to read and interpret documents.
• Ability to effectively communicate and work well with coworkers.
• Background with manufacturing methods, MRP, process improvement programs and procedures required.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing/ 5S Systems.
• Excellent leadership and administrative skills.
• Well organized and have multi-tasking skills.

Education Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree (B.A) or equivalent and 5 years of related experienced and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
