Visit our website for more information: http://www.emeraldcities.org/ OVERVIEW OF POSITIONThe Project Manager works within the Civic Infrastructure team to support equitable program and policy design and implementation for building decarbonization. The Project Manager is responsible for curating and producing resources, delivering training & technical assistance (TA), and supporting the evaluation of programs involving collaborations among government agencies, community-based organizations (CBOs), and other stakeholders.  Key focus areas will include community engagement and capacity-building; community benefits planning and accountability; and economic inclusion through workforce and contractor development.   The Project Manager will primarily support ECC’s participation in Residential Retrofits for Energy Equity (R2E2), including assistance for awardees of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Buildings Upgrade Prize (Buildings UP). R2E2 provides deep technical assistance to state, local, and tribal governments as well as community-based organizations to jumpstart energy upgrades for single family and multifamily affordable housing, especially in frontline communities.

The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, highly organized and creative individual willing to demonstrate a thoughtful and strategic approach to create equitable, healthy and sustainable communities. They will possess a unique combination of curiosity, technological savvy, excellent interpersonal skills, creating systems and the ability to organize information for clients and community constituents and run multiple projects. This position is funded for one year with full benefits. Continued employment is contingent upon program funding, and the successful candidate will be supported in growing their portfolio within the organization.

Location: Remote with preference for Washington DC.  Travel is required.  Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt  Salary: $75,000 to $85,000  MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Support planning and implementation of building decarbonization programs and policies, with a focus on frontline community leadership and economic inclusion 
  •  Tailor and deliver training using ECC and partner frameworks 
  • Develop and adapt written resources and presentations 
  • Support outreach, facilitation and evaluation to align priorities among community-based organizations, staff of relevant government jurisdictions, and other partners
  • Assess and recommend policy mechanisms & language to enhance community co-governance and economic inclusion through building decarbonization policies or supporting programs
  • Collect, analyze, and present data and guidance to answer questions about local and regional contexts 
  • Be a "thought partner" for multiple stakeholder types and ECC colleagues 
 Project administration and management 
  • Complete requests from partner organizations and TA recipients and ensure scopes, budgets, and schedules are on track and progress towards project management 
  • Monitor and coordinate with colleagues to fulfill requests for ECC involvement in project planning and TA delivery
  • Regular knowledge-sharing with ECC colleagues and application of resources/best practices across ECC programs 
  • The Project Manager will report to the Director of Civic Infrastructure, with the Senior Program Manager serving as the Task Lead
 EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSThe ideal candidate must have excellent skills in facilitation, research, writing, visual presentation, and critical thinking.  
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management or related experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred 
  • Background in social research is a plus, including experience with policy analysis and reviewing technical reports
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills 
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 
  • Ability to multitask, be organized, and flexible 
  • Commitment to the goal of advancing equity and economic inclusion in climate action
