Production Thermoformer

SUMMARY

Performs daily duties to keep thermoforming machines running and set up to meet production requirements, and quality requirements including first piece inspection.

Location: Mooresville, NC 28115
Schedule: Monday through Friday (40 hour week)
Pay Rate: $17-18/hr. *room for growth based on experience level

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Makes proper clamp frame selection to perform machine setup by instructions in traveler package and setup sheet.

- Select program by means determined by, tool design, print information, material information, traveler package, setup sheet.

- Read traveler packages to determine what product is being produced, quantity, and revision.
- Conveys materials and items from storage racks to machines.

- May be required to mark materials with identifying information, bar codes, part labels, and records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.

- Weighs, measures and/or counts materials to ensure conformance to company quality standards.

- Uses proper packaging techniques and follows established methods for protecting products during shipping as noted in quality work instructions.

- Required to use computer to enter records, track time and quantity

- Compiles worksheets, inspection records, and certificates of conformance or other required information per customer specifications.

- Drives forklift to transport material.

- Responsible for general work area housekeeping and safe work habits.

- Monitors process make changes that will allow processes to produce acceptable part.
- Fills out setup sheets and files them after acceptable first piece inspection.

- Setups and runs secondary equipment bandsaws, routers, and punch presses.

- Monitors process by means of inferred calipers, micrometers, thickness gauge, etc.
- Keeps scrap segregated for recycling, packages scrap identifies for transport.

- Drives forklift to transport material.

- Follows Lockout/Tagout and all other OSHA requirements

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must be able to measure material using devices such as calipers and tape measure.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Must have a valid Forklift License.
