Grooming/Daycare Receptionist

A successful candidate for this position will be someone who not only embraces a service culture, but is a collaborator, initiative-taking, takes direction well, has excellent communication skills, and attention to detail. This is a service-related industry, and you should not only be skilled at customer service, but enthusiastic about helping people. As a Pet Host, you are the first impression of our business.

Hours are 7:30am to 2:00pm Tuesday - Saturday (hours may vary due to schedule changes)

Benefits include:

· Salary - $15.00 - $16.00 an hour.

Duties:

· Ensuring customers and clients are treated with dignity and respect. Create and maintain strong relationships.

· Answer all incoming calls, checking and responding voicemails and emails. Manage any general inquiries about the business.

· Make grooming reservations, schedule appointments, schedule daycare reservations.

· Manage check and credit card transactions and reconciling.

· Interacting and communicating with other staff members to ensure client and pet needs and concerns are addressed.

· General knowledge of all services offered on site and being able to provide solutions to the client’s needs.

· Obtain vaccination records from clients and veterinary offices and input into the computer.

· Manage waitlists, ensuring schedules are utilized to maximum capacity.

· Notifying manager on duty when levels of inventory are low in the following areas: retail, cleaning products for front desk, and office supplies.

· Ensure the front lobby and dog spaces are clean, vacuumed, and free from safety hazards.

And let’s not forget - you are going to scoop some poop, clean up some pee, go home with some fur on you and get lots of sloppy kisses

 

Requirements:

· Must be at least 18 years of age. High School diploma or equivalent.

· Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Email), ability to type 30 wpm.

· Comfortable handling dogs and cats of all sizes, breeds, and personality types

· Ability to lift 40+ lbs.

· Excellent written and verbal communication in English (Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus)

• Front desk/customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
• Professional animal care: 1 year (Preferred)
