Flagship Jewelry Store Manager

We sell jewelry from emerging and independent jewelry designers from across the globe and have a handful of in house brands that we design and manufacture in house. The Role
As we look to open our first-ever retail location in Chicago this Spring 2025, we are looking to hire a motivated Store Manager to play an integral part in laying the foundation for our retail business and bringing the Local Eclectic brand and mission to life. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional interpersonal skills, have established sales leadership experience and pride themself in creating extraordinary customer experiences. They’ll be responsible for developing, managing and continuously improving all aspects of the store business, delivering an outstanding shopping experience for customers while managing day-to-day operations with a high level of detail and enthusiasm.
Responsibilities:
Build & Lead Your Team
- Hire and foster an exceptional sales team through recruitment and onboarding, as well as ongoing training and development
- Foster an engaging and inclusive store work environment where employees are motivated and supported to do their best and create positive shopping experiences for customers
- Manage and motivate the team to sales and profitability goals, operational objectives, and merchandising standards
- Lead biannual performance and development reviews for each store team member
- Establish and monitor sales team performance metrics and regularly evaluate performance at the individual level
Market & Grow the Brand & Store Channel
- Develop and roll out a thoughtful clienteling strategy to drive customer engagement and retention
- Regularly review reporting to identify and rollout strategies for improving key performance metrics to grow the store channel
- Constantly look for ways to level up the shopping experience and offer customers an experience they can’t get anywhere else

Manage Store Operations
- Monitor inventory levels, facilities, and other store-related assets
- Create procedures to protect the company’s inventory and assets
- Follow and enforce protocols to ensure risk management and safety
- Develop and manage daily scheduling for the store team to ensure optimal coverage that aligns with sales goals
- Efficiently manage the store budget and regularly look for ways to operate more efficiently
Cross-Functional Alignment
- Attend weekly HQ team meetings to report out on store performance and share back any relevant insights
- Work hand-in-hand with Cafe team to ensure seamless coordination between the Store & Cafe operations and establish unique and exceptional customer experiences
- Communicate daily with Inventory Operations team to ensure optimal stock levels
- Partner with Product team to develop and regularly update training materials, becoming an expert in the assortment
- Help curate and coordinate regular store activations with the Marketing team
- Keep the Store team informed and aware of launches, promotions and partnerships happening across the business
Qualifications
- 6-8+ years of retail experience, preferably within a jewelry environment; including at least 2+ years of management experience.
- Thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, are highly organized, and have a keen eye for trends and store presentation
- Business owner mindset with a proactive, entrepreneurial work ethic
- An upbeat collaborator with strong interpersonal skills
- A resourceful problem-solver and out-of-the-box thinker when faced with challenges
- Passionate about providing exceptional customer service
- Eager to build, coach, and retain a high-performing team that meets sales, operational, and financial performance goals
- Physical requirements: lift / carry / move 40lbs. minimum including fixtures and product
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including holidays, overnights, and weekends to meet the needs of the business
- Must be based in Chicago or willing to relocate
To build a balanced schedule that supports the needs of the business and our teams, we expect all full-time employees to have open availability and are expected to work variable shifts including peak days and weekends. All employees are expected to be able to work during the company’s peak selling period, from the week of Thanksgiving (including Black Friday and Thanksgiving weekend) through the end of the holiday season (the 1st week of January).
