What You’ll Do
As our Compounding Pharmacist, you will play an important role in maintaining the quality, safety, and efficiency of our compounding services.
Responsibilities include:
* Review and verify compounded prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and safety
* Oversee preparation of compounded medications in accordance with applicable USP standards, Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations, and company policies
* Perform and supervise pharmaceutical calculations, formulation preparation, and compounding procedures
* Review master formulation records and compounding records
* Ensure appropriate documentation, labeling, beyond-use dating, storage, and quality-control procedures
* Counsel patients and communicate with prescribers regarding compounded medications
* Work closely with pharmacy technicians and compounding staff to maintain an efficient workflow
* Train, support, and provide professional oversight to compounding personnel
* Maintain high standards for cleanliness, quality assurance, documentation, and regulatory compliance
* Assist with formulation development and problem-solving when appropriate
* Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
* Support other pharmacist responsibilities and pharmacy operations as needed
What We’re Looking For
Required:
* Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
* Active Texas Pharmacist license in good standing
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Ability to work effectively with pharmacists, technicians, prescribers, patients, and management
* Dependable, professional, and team-oriented attitude
Highly Preferred:
* Previous non-sterile and/or sterile compounding experience
* Knowledge of USP <795>, USP <797>, and applicable pharmacy compounding regulations
* Experience with customized dosage forms and compounded preparations
* Independent or community pharmacy experience
* Formal compounding training or certification
Compounding experience is strongly preferred; however, pharmacists with a strong interest in compounding and the ability to learn quickly are encouraged to apply.
