Meet Our Team:

The Senior Business Officer is a strategic leader responsible for driving deals to the finish line. This position provides a unique opportunity to use and develop a broad set of commercial, tactical, and legal skills. As a Senior Business Officer, you will partner closely with our clients, sales, finance, and product groups to determine the best way to close enterprise level deals aligned to Pega’s business objectives. As a key contributor to Pega’s success, you will report directly to one of our Lead Business Officers. The Business Officers are a highly tactical, well-rounded group of professionals that play a critical role in Pega’s growth. If you have a legal background and have always wanted to be more involved in the business, or a business or procurement background and have always wanted to be client facing, this high performing team is for you.

Pega is changing the way the world builds software. In this role you will lead and manage the mission-critical task of pricing, drafting, negotiating, and closing numerous complex cloud, software license, and service transactions. These transactions are often multi-million dollar deals with large industry-leading companies and involve time-sensitive, high-intensity negotiations with skilled client experts and professional negotiators.

What You'll Do at Pega:

  1. Lead the framing of customized license transactions and negotiation strategies while working with sales, finance, and senior management to develop customer proposals.
  2. Act as the lead negotiator for Pega with client procurement and business executives to create win-win partnerships and maximize value in alignment with Pega’s standards and precedents.
  3. Review and draft software license, cloud, and services agreements using concise language and “plain English” to rapidly resolve contract issues in a reasonable manner.

Who You Are:

  1. A detail-oriented, business savvy legal or business professional with experience negotiating complex software license and service contracts.
  2. Bachelor’s degree plus JD degree and/or MBA preferred.
  3. Substantial experience (10+ years') drafting and negotiating large enterprise technology agreements and complex transactions.
  4. Understanding of key technologies relevant to Pegasystems.
  5. Understanding of software revenue recognition.

  1. You have had detailed involvement in deal structuring and pricing, contract drafting, negotiating business and contractual terms with customers, and revenue recognition analysis.
  2. You have partnered with internal clients, like finance, to align business and financial goals.
  3. You are experienced in interacting with senior management on strategic decisions.
