(2074) Mental Health Peer Specialist

Services include peer support, Person-Centered Planning, Wellness Recovery Action Planning, Whole Health Action Management, Seeking Safety, and Recovery Dialogue. The primary responsibility of peer specialists is to help individuals identify and achieve their own needs, wants, and goals. The Certified Peer Specialist will facilitate and document individual and/or group services at mental health clinics, transitional housing, and in the community. The Certified Peer Specialist will work closely with Case Managers, Nursing Staff, Counselors, Management and other BBT staff to ensure continuity of care for the individuals receiving services. The Certified Peer Specialist may be asked to work a variable schedule with some evenings and weekends, as needed.
Location: Guadalupe, Caldwell, Gonzales, and Fayette Counties
Minimum Qualifications: Lived experience with recovery from mental health challenges, High School Diploma or equivalent, Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications: Current Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Seminar II certificate, Re-entry endorsement, Co-Occurring endorsement, Mental Health Peer Support certifications by Via Hope, Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification (or equivalent), Whole Health Action Management (WHAM) practitioner, Seeking Safety practitioner, 3+ years experience working as a peer specialist.
