Job Description

The Resource Coordinator Radiology reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assists with the selection of new team members.
  2. Conducts orientation and training of new and existing staff.
  3. Monitors the orientation of staff and identifies further instructional needs.
  4. Schedules staff for adequate coverage to meet the needs of the department; maintains attendance records.
  5. Prioritizes, assigns and reviews work; provides feedback to director regarding staff performance.
  6. Assists the director in establishing and evaluating performance expectations for staff.
  7. Serves as a resource to staff.
  8. Ensures staffing levels which meet department guidelines; ensures optimal department coverage and minimal overtime.
  9. Monitors utilization of supplies and equipment for optimal efficiency and cost containment.
  10. Coordinates equipment maintenance and repairs; assists with recommendations regarding the acquisition of new equipment.
  11. Supports quality assurance programs for the department.
  12. Enforces policies and procedures.
  13. Coordinates patient flow through department; resolves scheduling issues.
  14. Monitors and maintains the quality of films and services produced in general radiology.
  15. Monitors charges and tracks financial performance in general radiology.
  16. Communicates with patient before procedure to obtain history, explain risks and what can be expected; communicates during procedure to monitor safety, and comfort.
  17. Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table.
  18. Enters data such as anatomical area to be radiographed and selects proper technique.
  19. Views images on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures; produces radiographs.
  20. Ensures all exams are ordered correctly in HIS/RIS, charged and tracked accurately.
  21. Obtains "wet reading" from radiologist.

Qualifications:

Required:

  1. ARRT, IEMA
  2. 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent
  3. 3 to 5 years of related work experience

Preferred:

  1. Bachelor’s degree
  2. Previous supervisor experience
