Job Description

This position will report to a Principal or designee level staff member within our Building Envelope division and will involve a variety of general functions, including but not limited to:

  1. Understand exterior wall construction project phases including but not limited to shop drawing, modeling, design development and construction documents
  2. Conducting field review and progress inspection on designated projects
  3. Document and maintain well written reports on project related activity
  4. Ensure familiarity with building codes in local markets
  5. Advise Project manager on status, scheduling, effort of work and estimates for completion
  6. Communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and job related management teams
  7. Providing cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed
  8. Maintain detailed documents and progression of work from initial proposal through completion
  9. Present project related technical information to clients and design teams
  10. Occasional presentation of white paper/case studies to technical teams
  11. Attend in-house seminars and scheduled team meetings
  12. Support junior technicians or entry level staff
Qualifications
  1. Minimum of 1-3 years working with building envelope design, inspection, development and/or engineering
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Architectural, Civil, or Mechanical preferred)
  3. Knowledge of broad architectural design theories/concepts and specific structural theories/concepts related to exterior wall construction
  4. Experience using measurement devices
  5. Minimum 10 hour OSHA certification preferred
  6. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
  7. Strong written and verbal communications skills
  8. Excellent PC computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word or suitable document writing programs
  9. Must demonstrate an ability to work in a dynamic team environment, to think outside the box, and solve complex problems
  10. Ability to be detail-oriented as well as see the bigger picture
