EHS Technical Writer
We are seeking a dedicated EHS Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing our Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards by developing and maintaining comprehensive policies and training materials. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with HSE management to ensure all procedures and systems meet local, state, and federal regulations, while also improving safety and compliance throughout the organization. Compensation: DOE (Starting at $30/hr for qualified candidates)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and implementation of comprehensive HSE policies and procedures.
- Create, edit, and maintain detailed documentation including HSE policies, procedures, manuals, and training modules.
- Support the HSE Manager in researching and implementing solutions for regulatory compliance challenges.
- Participate in the planning and execution of HSE-related project plans to ensure continuous improvement.
- Ensure all HSE documents remain current, accurate, and in line with the relevant standards and regulations.
- Facilitate effective communication and training regarding HSE policies and procedures across all employee levels.
- Collaborate with HSE Supervisors to drive improvements in HSE performance.
- Conduct risk assessments to ensure safety in new and existing tasks and equipment.
- Lead innovative process improvements and manage the implementation of action items to fruition.
- Analyze HSE incidents to identify root causes and develop preventive measures while maintaining detailed incident logs.
- Contribute to the training of leadership and management teams in their HSE responsibilities.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in writing HSE policies and procedures.
- Proven understanding of local, state, and federal HSE regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Experience in using Microsoft Word and Excel for document creation and data management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification in Health, Safety, or Environmental management.
- Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role within an HSE department.
- Experience with HSE auditing and compliance management systems.
- Strong project management skills and experience.
- Advanced proficiency in IT tools for HSE management.
