Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Hotel Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic Resort Operations team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the resort's facilities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our guests. This position involves a variety of tasks, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and responding to guest calls.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engineering Projects and Preventive Maintenance:
    • Execute engineering projects as directed by resort leadership.
    • Conduct preventive maintenance activities to ensure the optimal functioning of resort facilities.
  2. General Maintenance Support:
    • Perform basic tasks such as painting, caulking, and repairing wall damages.
    • Troubleshoot and address plumbing issues in toilets, tubs, jacuzzis, showers, faucets, and sinks.
  3. Electrical and Electronics:
    • Reset breakers and GFCIs, replace bulbs, and determine voltage using appropriate tools.
    • Install, replace, and troubleshoot TVs, remotes, and other electronics.
  4. Appliance Troubleshooting:
    • Troubleshoot appliances, replace minor components, and assist in full replacements as needed.
  5. Procurement and Inventory:
    • Actively participate in the procurement and inventory process to ensure materials and tools are readily available.
    • Utilize resort operations devices and software effectively (e.g., HotSOS).
  6. Communication and Customer Service:
    • Communicate professionally through radios, phones, emails, and verbal interactions.
    • Interpret and address guest needs positively and efficiently.
  7. Safety and Security:
    • Follow safety guidelines and practices while recognizing and identifying potential hazards.
    • Comply with all CFI/Westgate Resorts policies and procedures related to safety and security.
  8. Custodial Duties:
    • Perform custodial duties as required by resort leadership.
  9. Professional Representation:
    • Represent Westgate Resorts in a professional manner through appearance, dress, and behavior.
  10. Other Duties:
    • Complete other duties as assigned by resort operations leadership.
Qualifications
  • Experience of 0 - 1 year of hands-on trades & maintenance experience in a resort or commercial environment.
  • The individual must be energetic, self-motivated, and expressive with a keen eye for detail.
  • Communicative to excel in guest and peer relations.
  • Ability to be versatile, work well under pressure and execute to meet deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as required.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
