GENERAL SUMMARY
As an Assembly Technician you will be responsible for building final products in our warehouse or other facility based on instructions and diagrams provided by the manufacturer. You will be responsible for quality checks on products made to ensure customers receive a high-quality product.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • The position requires two years of experience in manufacturing assembly
  • Knowledge of ESD handling procedures
  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices
  • Strong technical skills
  • Excellent ability to follow written instructions
  • General mechanical aptitude
Preferred Education
  • A minimum of High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in medical device or GMP/ISO environment, strongly preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills required. Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
Physical Demands
  • Requires normal visual acuity and hearing.
  • Lifting items up to 30 Pounds
  • Moving equipment and products will be expected on a daily basis.
  • Required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and manipulate keys on a keyboard.
  • Additional skills may be required to perform additional task(s) specific to work location, department or line of business.
Working Conditions
  • Will work in an Engineering Lab based environment.
  • Will work with different equipment to assemble or test medical devices

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Each Employee consistently demonstrates the following essential functions:
  • Perform a wide range of electronic and mechanical assembly operations in a medical device manufacturing environment.
  • Assemble and test complex electro-mechanical assemblies to product diagrams to produce a medical device in an ESD controlled and FDA/ISO regulated environment.
  • Precisely follow electronic work instructions, assembly drawings and bills of materials.
  • Ability to use a variety of small hand tools (torque driver, pliers, cutters and screwdrivers) as well as semi-automated test systems.
  • Work under general supervision of the Production Lead
  • Adhere to “5S” organization and housekeeping requirements.
  • Use computers for online timekeeping, electronic routing system, viewing work instructions as well as documenting results in the quality database.
  • Assist in other operational areas as needed including receiving, packaging, inventory cycle counts, or other duties as assigned.
  • Good manual dexterity with the ability to sit for extended periods of time in a repetitive manufacturing environment.
  • Attends and participates in departmental meetings. Attends seminars and training sessions necessary to maintain appropriate level of professional competence.
  • Ensures all department compliance guidelines are met.
  • Attends all meetings, in-services training, or continuing education as delegated by the supervisor.
  • Provides customer focused interactions.
  • Performs all duties necessary for the department as per department policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor within the scope of practice and the responsibilities in the department.
