Job Description

Supports the movement and growth opportunities for inbound and outbound cargo for freight forwarding customers. Ensures that freight is processed in compliance with governmental regulations (e.g., Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation Security Administration, etc.). Collaborates with vendors, customers, commercial airline carriers, ocean freightliners, and other internal support groups for the movement of international and domestic air and ocean shipments. Responsible for regulating truck schedules and working alongside contract drivers.

Provides specific functional expertise that is theoretical and conceptual in nature. May supervise others in the capacity of a “player coach” but primarily focuses on individual expertise. Must be highly self-motivated and proactive, capable of working independently and taking initiative to drive projects forward.

Applies working knowledge of theories, practices, and/or procedures within job discipline. Broadens capabilities and understanding of the company processes and customers. Performs mostly routine assignments and resolves common issues by using precedents or seeking guidance. Assesses straightforward problems and proposes solutions based on analysis of factual information, experience, judgment, and precedents. Impacts the quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Shares factual information with team members and receives guidance on a regular basis. Entry-level to UPS’s professional career track. Typically requires a four-year degree or equivalent experience.
