Position Overview:
As the Lead HR Business Partner at BAL, this key member of the HR Leadership Team will serve as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to senior leadership within the firm, including legal practice leaders, support departments, and executive management. Reporting directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), you will play a pivotal role in driving key HR initiatives that align with the firm’s business goals. This role requires a hands-on strong thought partner who can balance strategic vision with operational execution, ensuring a best-in-class employee experience across all levels of the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Partner with senior leaders to understand business priorities, translate them into people strategies, and deliver impactful HR solutions that drive business success.
- Talent Management & Succession Planning: Lead efforts in identifying and developing high-potential talent, designing succession plans for critical roles, and ensuring the firm is equipped with the right capabilities for growth and sustainability.
- Organizational Development: Lead initiatives to strengthen firm culture, including employee engagement programs, DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) efforts, and change management.
- Workforce Planning: Collaborate with the Head of Talent Acquisition and department heads to assess current workforce needs, predict future staffing trends, and ensure proper resourcing and talent allocation.
- Compensation & Benefits: Partner with Head of Compensation to evaluate, design, and deliver competitive compensation and benefits programs that align with the firm’s objectives and ensure market competitiveness.
- HR Data & Analytics: Use HR metrics and data analytics to drive decision-making and continuous improvement in HR processes and programs.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop junior HR staff, promoting a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
- Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI): Partner with DEI leadership to drive initiatives that promote diversity in recruitment, development, and retention.
- Employee Engagement: Implement strategies to drive employee engagement and foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 15+ years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 7 years of leadership responsibilities, preferably within a professional services or law firm environment.
- Strong expertise in employee relations, talent management, organizational development, and compensation strategies.
- Proven ability to work with and influence senior leaders, offering strategic insight and HR advice aligned with business goals.
- Deep understanding of employment law, compliance, and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop high-performing HR teams.
- Experience with HR systems and data-driven decision-making.
