Veterinary Health System
The Colorado State University Veterinary Health System exists to support the College of Veterinary Medicine and its mission and goals through excellence of service, responsible operations, collaborative systems, shared resources, and effective fiscal management. It is comprised of numerous, semi-independent units and disciplines with varied and wide-ranging purposes and needs, but which are otherwise connected through a common service-oriented mission. The VHS exists to enable collective success achieved through effective collaboration and shared support across all of the individual units which include the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VHT), the Veterinary Diagnostic Lab (VDL), and various other labs and service units within the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

Position Summary

Lead Projects That Drive Veterinary Excellence: Join Us as a Project Manager

Are you an organized innovator who thrives on turning ideas into action? The Veterinary Health System at Colorado State University is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to bring vision, structure, and efficiency to initiatives that support groundbreaking veterinary care.

In this role you will provide executive administrative support for the Veterinary Health System (VHS) leadership, including managing project timelines and documentation, creating dashboards and reports, and communicating progress with stakeholders.

Required Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing complex projects involving cross-functional teams, schedules, and budgets.
  • Experience in using project management systems such as Monday.com, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Experience managing project budgets, forecasting costs, and working with financial teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Adobe Creative Cloud, and other software for creating reports, dashboards, and presentations.
Preferred Job Qualifications
  • PMP, CAPM, or other recognized project management certifications.
  • Prior experience working in a healthcare, veterinary, or academic setting.
  • Experience in managing and leading project teams.
  • Strong background in developing budget proposals and managing the financial aspects of projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Essential DutiesProject Management
  • Create and maintain detailed project charters.
  • Coordinate and manage individual teams for initiatives across the Veterinary Health System.
  • Generate reports that highlight progress and achieved milestones.
  • Exercise discretion and judgment to meet project objectives.
  • Manage complex schedules, cross-team relationships, and communications.
Operational Communications
  • Create charts, visuals, and dashboards to communicate progress with stakeholders.
  • Manage and record complex meeting action/discovery items.
  • Keep VHS leadership informed of each project’s status.
Budget and Reporting
  • Facilitate financial management of assigned contracts.
  • Prepare budget proposals and progress reports.
  • Manage project budgets and determine revenue recognition.
Administrative Support
  • Support ongoing VHS initiatives.
  • Assist with creation of presentations and documents.
  • Manage schedules of VHS teams.
