While our main business location is in Auburn, WA, this is a remote position open to candidates across the United States.

This position estimates and details jobs as assigned. Deals with a diverse group of external callers as well as internal contacts at all levels of the organization. Independent judgement is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload.

Essential Functions

  • Reviews construction documents, specifically Division 8 architectural requirements, and understands scope of work to bid.
  • Reads plans and project manuals to determine product specifications and material requirements.
  • Enters project information into estimating software.
  • Prices projects using manufacturers’ quotes and price lists.
  • Writes cost competitive proposals for bidding projects.
  • Provides estimates, budgets, ROM pricing, and/or project guidance to general contractors as needed.
  • Details doors, frames and hardware in the schedule; creates elevations; confirms technical aspects of order and ensures that all fire and life safety codes are met.
  • Develops project timelines based on capacity from internal departments, outside vendors, and knowledge of production and delivery schedules and communicates with customer accordingly.
  • Details, engineers and prepares accurate submittals to meet project specifications.
  • Attends virtual departmental meetings as required.
  • Efficiently handles multiple tasks and projects, while meeting project specific deadlines.
  • Learns new software programs as company grows and industry advances.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: 10 years’ minimum experience in door & hardware industry preferred.
  • DHI accreditations preferred.
  • Experience with Comsense preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Hollow Metal and Division 8 hardware knowledge
  • Knowledge of Building Codes is helpful
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Familiar with project management software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • This position requires the employee to frequently remain in a stationary position, constantly operating a computer. The employee must occasionally move or transport up to 25 pounds of office supplies or equipment.
  • This position requires vision and hearing abilities. The employee must be able to communicate verbally and visually with customers, vendors, and coworkers. The employee must be able to detect, discern, and convey information accurately and effectively.
  • This role operates in a professional or office environment (or both) and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computer, phone, and/or photocopier.
