Are you passionate about operating and enhancing mission-critical security solutions that protect Amazon's vast infrastructure? The Endpoint Security Capabilities and Platform Engineering (ESCAPE) team is seeking a driven Systems Engineer to join our dynamic group. We are responsible for managing the tools and services that monitor and respond to malicious/suspicious activity across Amazon and its subsidiaries, with a focus on delivering best-in-class endpoint security solutions.
In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of implementing, operating, and continuously improving our security agent services, working with both first-party and third-party security solutions. Your work will directly impact the effectiveness and reliability of our endpoint solutions, making a direct impact on the security posture of Amazon and its subsidiaries. If you're passionate about delivering extensible, on-time solutions and have experience working within a high-performance team, we want to hear from you
Key job responsibilities
- Administer and optimize the deployment, configuration, and performance of our endpoint security agents across Amazon's global infrastructure and its subsidiaries.
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to gather and prioritize requirements, ensuring our solutions meet the evolving security needs of the business.
- Develop and maintain automated processes for the efficient management and scaling of our endpoint security services.
- Troubleshoot complex issues and drive the resolution of problems, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-performance solutions.
- Leverage various monitoring and analysis tools to proactively identify and address security risks.
- Evaluate and test new capabilities to enhance our endpoint security platform.
- Stay current with the latest trends and best practices in endpoint security, contributing to the continuous improvement of our service offerings.
As a Systems Engineer in the ESCAPE team, your day centers on maintaining Amazon's endpoint security agent infrastructure. You'll monitor system health, address alerts, and collaborate with security engineers, IT, third party vendors, and others to optimize agent deployments. Tasks include fine-tuning automation scripts, testing new capabilities, and analyzing logs for potential issues. You'll work closely with product owners to prioritize features and plan deployments. Your customers are Amazon's business units and subsidiaries, whose endpoints you protect. Key challenges involve maintaining system performance at scale, minimizing impact related to agent changes and deployments, and swiftly responding to issues within our supported infrastructure. Your role is vital in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of Amazon's endpoint security platform across its diverse technology landscape.
