Being a News Photojournalist/Editor means going places other people don’t get to go. This is an opportunity with a collaborative team on a fast-paced morning news show, to see the sunrise through the lens of your camera, and to make a difference by informing the community in which you live. Apple Valley News Now is looking for a News Photojournalist/Editor to add to our staff to be a part of our proud legacy of storytelling. What You’ll Do

You’ll be a part of our tight-knit news team and will set up live shots in the field for our reporters and shoot video of breaking news, community events and other stories. We’ll teach you how to operate our camera equipment and also how to turn an interview and some b-roll into compelling news content to air on TV and digital platforms. The News Photojournalist/Editor will also edit stories for newscasts so your keen attention to detail, ability to confidently make decisions under pressure, and sound news judgment, are essential to this vital role. Your voice will matter in making daily decisions about news coverage and creative ways to tell stories.

What You’ll Bring

A 4-year degree and/or equivalent work experience is preferred, but we’re ready to train you if you’re eager and excited to do the job. It’s great if you have basic knowledge of broadcast quality camera equipment and some editing experience. You’ll need to be a dependable worker who is also self-motivated and able to work in a deadline-driven environment. If you’re not afraid to make quick, last-minute decisions under intense deadline driven circumstances, let’s talk.

Pay range: $17.00 – $17.80/hour

Benefits: We offer employees and their families medical, dental, vision, prescription, life insurance, and Employee Assistance Program benefits. Employees are also offered long-term disability insurance, flexible spending account, 401(k), health savings account, employee referral program, and paid time off including vacation time equivalent to 80 hours/year depending on start date, 1 hour of sick time for every 40 hours worked, 2 personal days and 9 paid holidays.
