This is skilled manual work serving the City’s Neighborhood Team (N-Team) in providing community improvements and assisting qualified homeowners with various home repairs addressing City Code violations, including, but not limited to, accessibility improvements, carpentry, painting, plumbing, roof patching, masonry work, debris removal and yard maintenance. Work involves driving a motor vehicle, using the required standard hand/power tools, small turf/landscaping equipment, various construction equipment to perform tasks of a manual nature, and other related work. An employee in this class must exhibit good organization skills, be able to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time, sometimes under unfavorable weather conditions and perform required work above ground level using extension ladders up to 32’. Work may be performed independently under general direction and requires lead worker responsibilities over one or more semi-skilled workers on an assigned project. Work is reviewed while in progress, upon completion and through conversation. Employees in this position are expected to be able to perform all work tasks and comply with any work schedules, attendance, or duty requirements which may be established by City, department rules, or applicable union contracts.
Salary: $19.76 - $28.57 Hourly

To QualifyMinimum Qualifications. Applicants must:- Possess a valid high school diploma or GED equivalency.
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver License.
- Have significant experience in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and/or roofing.
- Be able to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.
- Be able to effectively communicate oral and written instructions to others.
- Be able to, daily, perform heavy manual labor including frequently lifting and handling materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Have supervisory experience.
- Have ability to estimate material needs, prepare routine reports and maintain records.
- Have experience with NaviLine, Word, Excel, or similar programs.
- Have OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 Certificate.
- Have considerable knowledge of materials, methods and techniques commonly used in residential repair and maintenance activities.
- Have skill in the operation of various hand and power tools.
- Have experience driving vehicles with a trailer.
- Have ability to effectively interact with customers.
