We have an opportunity for you to use your analytical skills in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) to improve the way healthcare is delivered, as well as extend access to quality healthcare for Veterans nationwide.


Role Overview:

You’ll work closely with your client to understand their questions and needs, and then utilize understanding of the intersection of data science and healthcare delivery to provide actionable insights to Healthcare Operations and Clinical SMEs. You’ll work to rapidly identify relevant data sources, assess fitness for the problem at hand, analyze gaps, and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn that set of disparate data points into objective answers to help VA leadership make informed decisions. You’ll provide your client with a deep understanding of their data, what it all means, and how they can use it. Join us as we use data science for good in the healthcare industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with healthcare operations and clinical SMEs to understand data analysis needs.
  • Identify and evaluate relevant data sources for visualization and insight generation.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and other data visualization tools.
  • Provide actionable insights from healthcare data to inform operational and strategic decisions.
  • Communicate findings and insights effectively to executive stakeholders.
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with data visualization standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in data science, statistics, and data visualization in a professional setting
  • Experience analyzing and applying insights from healthcare data
  • Proficiency with PowerBI and dashboard development
  • Proficiency with data visualization and data analysis through coding languages such as Python
  • Ability to work independently or in a team to derive insights from unstructured healthcare data and effectively communicate those insights to operational and clinical SMEs
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust determination

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of VHA Centralized Data Warehouse (CDW) schema structure
  • Evident verbal and written communication skills ranging from explaining analyses to a variety of audiences to communicating project goals, plans, and progress
  • Experience developing presentations to share data analytic insights and visualizations.
  • Excellent follow-up skills and the ability to take initiative as well as a proactive problem solving approach

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $110,000. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience, education, and skills relevant to the role.
