MEPPI's Service Center Division (SCD) is seeking a dynamic Field Service Technician I to perform maintenance and service support activities for our single and three-phase Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) and associated peripherals. This role also includes battery installations and routine testing to ensure reliable performance for our customers.
What You’ll Do:- Deliver On-Site Support: Perform preventative and remedial maintenance, field modifications, and testing of power quality products directly at customer sites.
- Schedule with Precision: Serve as the primary customer contact for scheduling routine service and preventative maintenance work.
- Troubleshoot and Repair: Conduct routine troubleshooting and repair work on power quality products, ensuring optimal performance.
- Handle Battery Maintenance: Perform battery installations and routine testing, maintaining reliability and safety.
- Keep Service Flowing: Execute maintenance procedures on a periodical flow, ensuring customer satisfaction and product longevity.
- Document Everything: Maintain detailed service records and provide comprehensive documentation of all services performed.
- Inspect and Test: Examine returned products, components, and systems to determine defects and operational status.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with other MEPPI departments, including Engineering, to identify product solutions for improved performance and protection.
- Submit Accurate Reports: File expense reports promptly and accurately in accordance with company policies.
- Be a Positive Representative: Further the goals and positive image of the division by conducting business with customers, suppliers, and internal teams in a timely and cooperative manner.
- Education: Associate degree in Electrical, Electronics, or a related technical field, with 0-1 years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of technical, electrical, or electronic products—or equivalent education and experience.
- Technical Expertise: Developed knowledge and proficiency with mechanical and electronic test equipment.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate professionally with customers and team members.
- Technical Knowledge: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues effectively and efficiently.
- Technology Proficiency: Developed computer skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Office products and MRP/ERP business systems.
