Job Overview:

This position is responsible for providing world-class customer service while maintaining conditions on the sales floor through product stocking, inventory processing, and maintaining a clean and orderly department.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Greet each customer entering the department with friendliness, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Take the initiative to assist customers to find the item they are searching for by identifying and addressing their needs.
  • Observe safety and security procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Adhere to all Idaho laws regarding food safety and sanitation.
  • Foster a safe environment for our customers by using DESHA approved language.
  • Stock products following departmental guidelines for merchandising, rotation, sanitation and pricing.
  • Maintain positive relationships with associates, supplier representatives, and local business owners.
  • Attain a full understanding of the different shifts throughout the day and their varying responsibilities.
  • Maintain organization of work areas and floor sets.
  • Maintain bulk items, including bulk soaps and herbs.
  • Complete and record applicable opening and closing duties.
  • Monitor expiration dates to ensure proper rotation, bringing attention to items approaching their expiration.
  • Participate in quarterly inventory counts.
  • Assist in maintaining displays.
  • Flow seamlessly between ensuring superior customer service and addressing daily departmental tasks.
  • Consistently adhere to scheduled shifts and be ready for work when shift begins.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by DM, ADM & Orderers.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Able to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
  • Adherence to posted schedule and ability to be on time and ready to work.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, learn quickly, and adapt to an ever-changing landscape.
  • Manage workload, be self-motivated, and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Adhere to scheduled shifts and be ready for work when shift begins.
  • Ability to consistently be at work and on time.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Retail experience is preferred but not required.
  • Exposure to and/or interest in holistic Wellness is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in basic operations of Microsoft Office, including Outlook email, Word, Excel, and Teams.

Physical Demands:

Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a grocery setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight, up to 50lbs; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.

Working Environment:

Work is performed primarily in a grocery store setting with extensive public contact and frequent interruptions.
