Job Summary

The Assistant Harvest Manager is responsible for supporting the Manager in overseeing daily cannabis harvest operations at their facility during the post- life stages of the plant, from harvest to final cure.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Motivate Harvest team by providing encouragement, being a servant leader, and constructive feedback.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and development opportunities to Lead, and Specialists.
  • Support inventory management of harvested cannabis material throughout the Harvest process: wet trim, dry room, cure, dry trim, etc.
  • Monitor and maintain the optimal dry room environmental conditions by adjusting HVAC systems, humidifier, etc. to prevent mold and crop loss.
  • Ensure all barcoded inventory is accurately documented in our track and trace systems.
  • Maintain the Harvest productivity tracking system through each stage of the process to measure efficiency, performance and report on success.
  • Guide and direct harvest staff to ensure environmental controls and product quality are appropriately maintained.
  • Ensure that all QC/QA protocols are being followed and maintained.
  • Report on daily progress, updates to Harvest Manager.
  • Follow all rules and regulations for harvest and inventory management including wet weight measurements, dry weight measurements, and harvest batch requirements as set by the State and municipality in which we operate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • 2+ year experience working in a high-volume production facility or within a cannabis cultivation facility.
  • 1+ year previous management/supervisory experience in a regulated field that adheres to health and safety policies and procedures required.
  • Comfortable with heights, soil and water, and tight spaces.
  • Able to climb, squat, bend, twist, stand for at least 8 hours per day, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older, and able to successfully register with the state’s cannabis commission as an agent.
  • Must be able to comply with all laws, regulations, and policies associated with the industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 year(s) of management/supervisory experience in the cannabis industry preferred.
  • Operations or performance improvement skill sets preferred.
  • Previous experience in agriculture, horticulture, or related field is a plus

Physical and Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position, move and/or position oneself, communicate, operate and/or prepare, place, position objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally move packages weighing up to 50 lb. Able to stand for 90% of the time. Comfortable with heights, occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service the lights, filters, trellis netting and ceiling fans up to 25ft. Comfortable working atop and traversing scaffolding, when required. Comfortable with changing environment temperatures and humidity. Exposure to pollen, dust, dander, and other nature elements. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close observation and the ability to adjust focus. Working Environment

Work is performed in a warehouse environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
