We have an opportunity for you to use your policy and research analysis skills in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) to improve the way healthcare is delivered, as well as extend access to quality healthcare for Veterans nationwide.


Role Overview:

You’ll work closely with your client to understand their questions and needs, apply a deep understanding of quantitative methods and healthcare policy to implement programs, identify healthcare industry trends, and support critical decisions for health system operations planning and transformation. You’ll analyze existing policies to ensure compliance and research policies that can help improve Veteran health outcomes. You’ll contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity and communicate analysis to stakeholders through PowerPoint presentation, briefs, and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct policy analysis and research to support VA leadership decisions.
  • Evaluate healthcare policies for compliance and improvement opportunities.
  • Coordinate and facilitate meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, setup support, and note-taking.
  • Track actions and follow-ups to ensure program objectives are met.
  • Support program leads with project planning and execution.
  • Prepare initial drafts of reports, briefs, and other documents for stakeholder review.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement healthcare policy programs and identify industry trends.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations through clear, concise deliverables, including presentations and reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2-4+ years of directly related experience or Master’s degree and 0-2+ years directly related experience.
  • Experience with support efforts in the areas of VA policy analysis, research, and communications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Understanding of the legislative process and how politics applies to health policy
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust determination

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with strategic planning in a healthcare system, medical group, or health plan and an understanding of decision-making processes, political dynamics of issues, ability to build consensus with stakeholders
  • Experience with commercial healthcare systems, medical groups, or health plans
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to conduct independent research and create client-ready deliverables
  • Master’s degree in health care related field

Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience, education, and skills relevant to the role.
