X-ray Technologist Position Description

Job Title: X-ray Technologist
Department: Radiology Department
Reports To: Radiology Manager/Director

Overview:
As an X-ray Technologist in our medical facility, you will play a crucial role in providing diagnostic imaging services to patients. You will be responsible for operating X-ray equipment to produce high-quality images for medical interpretation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in c-arm operations, physiology knowledge, medical terminology, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge. You will be responsible for operating a c-arm in the surgical suites, as well as in the procedure suites, quality control, patient care, cleaning, and stocking supplies. Must be a team player and possess the ability to communicate with technologists, staff and physicians. ARRT and Tennessee State license required.

Responsibilities:
- Perform X-ray imaging procedures following established protocols and physician orders.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and protocols.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of X-ray equipment.

Skills:

- Proficiency in c-arm operation.
- Understanding of medical terminology and physiology.
- Ability to utilize aseptic techniques during procedures.

Requirements for Applicants:
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) required.
- Prior experience as an X-ray Technologist in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
