JOB SUMMARY:

The Interim Director of Nursing will oversee the nursing department, ensuring high-quality patient care, compliance with regulations, and effective management of nursing staff. This role is critical during transitional periods and requires strong leadership, communication, and clinical expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
* Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development for nursing personnel.
* Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet patient care needs.
* Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate patient care.
* Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
* Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and agency policies.
* Prepare for and participate in inspections and audits.
* Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies and procedures.
* Stay current with best practices in nursing and healthcare to ensure high standards of care.
* Assist in budget preparation and management for the nursing department.
* Monitor expenditures and implement cost-effective practices.
* Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, administration, and other departments.
* Facilitate regular meetings to address issues, share updates, and promote teamwork.
* Other Duties as Assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Registered Nurse licensure required; Master’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
* Current and valid nursing license in Oregon
* Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
* Proven experience in managing nursing staff and operations.
* Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare technologies.
* Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
* Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
