In this Geospatial Developer role, you will work collaboratively with other developers and teams to establish an enterprise GIS tool suite for the Intelligence Community, utilizing a combination of COTS,FOSS, and GOTS software. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, from system and application design to implementation, testing, and deployment. Additionally, you will contribute to the integration of capabilities from external systems and bring a passion for automation and modern Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD) practices.

In this role, you will contribute to the development of advanced Geospatial Intelligence analysis software, utilizing your expertise in GIS, machine learning, microservices, cloud technologies, and DevOps practices. Your work will directly impact operational users, enabling them to gain a decisive advantage in decision-making over near-peer adversaries. As a Geospatial Software Engineer, you will...
Develop applications with modern COTS and FOSS GIS technologies
Bring knowledge of geospatial data formats (vector and raster)
Have solid understanding of GIS Web Services such as ArcGIS REST Services or OGC services (WMS, WFS, WCS, WPS)
Work with Geospatial APIs (ArcGIS Server/Portal, Geodatabase, Etc..)
Working Knowledge of Web Mapping APIs such as Openlayers, ArcGIS JS API, leaflet
Develop using modern languages such as: Python, Ruby, Java, C#, Javascript, etc.
Demonstrate experience using rapid prototyping and Agile based software development methodologies

Geospatial Software Engineer Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in software development (analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance) required.
Bachelor’s degree
5+ years of experience developing with modern languages such as: Python, Ruby, Java, or JavaScript with a B.S./B.A degree or equivalent experience.
Experience managing enterprise GIS infrastructure such as ArcGIS Enterprise and/or FOSS based geospatial solutions such as Geoserver or Mapserver.
Operational and configuration experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, Geodatabases, and other extensions to the ArcGIS Baseline.
Solid understanding of GIS Web Services such as ArcGIS REST Services or OGC services (WMS, WFS, WCS, WPS).
Demonstrated experience using rapid prototyping and Agile based software development methodologies.
Additional skills we'd like to see:
Operational and configuration experience with ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Portal, Geodatabases, and other extensions to the ArcGIS Baseline.
Understanding of machine learning concepts
Experience working with RDBMS and NoSQL databases
Experience with development in microservice based architectures
Understanding of web application development concepts
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing software enhancements to mission systems in other Government agencies
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, Kafka
AWS experience
Demonstrated experience with continuous integration and software CM processes / tools (Subversion, GIT, JIRA, Confluence)
Demonstrated experience with building DevOps pipelines for enterprise systems
Demonstrated experience with infrastructure as code applications (Chef, Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
AWS Certification (Developer, DevOps and/or, Architect, etc.)
Security+ Certification
