EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:
Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association
Must be a Registered Dietician (LRD)
Licensed in the state of North Dakota
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Establishes and implements Clinical Nutrition policies and procedures in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
Organizes work schedule and assignments to meet any deadlines.
Monitors and ensures compliance with safety and sanitation standards as needed.
Identifies food sources approved or considered satisfactory by the Commissioner of Health which are clean, wholesome, free from spoilage, free from adulteration and misbranding and safe for human consumption.
Monitors to ensure quality meals are delivered to residents.
Initiates and updates nutritional assessments for each resident and develops individualized care plans in accordance with physician orders and state and federal regulations. Attends care conferences as able for residents.
Ensures that documentation is completed on all resident records according to regulation and policy.
Provides input in formulating and administering the organization's policies/procedures and participates as needed in the development of long range goals and objectives of the institution.
Prepares reports/records on activities for review by the Director of Nursing as needed.
Meets with residents, tenants, families, and visitors to discuss any dietary concerns.
Maintains communication and information lines with inside and outside contacts regarding all aspects of clinical nutrition.
Provides educational opportunities for staff to enhance their knowledge base, as requested. Attends meetings and in-services and works collaboratively with other Directors/Coordinators and staff.
Proposes any budgetary needs.
Makes daily operational decisions regarding clinical nutrition in the facility and the subsidiary operations. Makes recommendations to the Director of Nursing and/or Administration for additional clinical nutrition ventures.
